The World War II (WWII) Interactive Mobile Tour Experience (Mobile Tour) is a groundbreaking, immersive, interactive and multimedia app that allows visitors, for the first time in history, to interact with the world-renowned WWII Memorial on the National Mall in Washington, DC, using their mobile phones or tablets.
The app uses both image-recognition and geolocation technologies to achieve a seamless experience for visitors to this majestic memorial. The Mobile Tour includes video war stories, WWII veteran interviews, Memorial Facts about Memorial features (with vetted content by world-class historians), trivia game, a how-to video on how to use the app and much more.
The app was designed for audiences of all ages and doesnt require data usage, thanks to localized wifi. It is the first time that such a comprehensive approach has been taken to any national memorial in Washington, DC.
